I was welllll chuffed with myself when I drew this. It was just a doodle to start with but turned into a great picture. I got scared I was gonna fuck it up by drawing its body, so I stopped. You can sort of see the body lines.
Monday saw me back in at the Agency, doing really stress filled Flash work, earning lots of pennies but yearning to be back at Papertank where things are simpler and I can lead a quiet life…
Sigh…
yeah… don’t know what was going on with this.
Sunday! we went to see the new animated film ‘The Illusionist’. It was fantastically depressing but beautiful all at the same time.
I would recommend it to you animation lovers. It was made by the same fellows who did Belleville Rendevous. Fantastic.
This is a self portrait…. of my flat mate… Holley.
I went to see Scott Pilgrim. I loved it.
I know it’s not as good as the comic, but it would be such an unusual story to make into a film, it needed to be adapted. And especially to make it fit into 2 hours!
I personally thought it was one of Edgar Wright’s best.
Start Argument!
Aww look at little Millie, doesn’t she just want to make you BUY SOMETHING from me.
I need to buy a large format scanner so I can start drawing Never Ever After by hand.
Day 3 of agency!
But only a small amount of work this time and then back to Papertank HQ.
I really like this drawing, the sort of sketchy style. It reminds me of (but no where near as good as) Scottie Young.
Man I need to buy his Wonderful Wizard of Oz…
And so day 2 of Agency work began at 9. and finished at 6. and without a lunch break!
It was dire, but I got all the work done by the deadline (mostly).
And so I left. but that is not the end of the story.
Also, I like this drawing. I want to draw the next arc of Never Ever After in this style.
Monday… what a hectic and scary day!
I started work on what I thought was going to be an easy project for a company in Glasgow.
i had to go work in their offices and finish a Flash project for a big advertising campaign, as their guy was on holiday and there was a last minute deadline to meet.
So I went in at 9 and worked pretty much solidly till 5:30…. the story continties…
and thats how I want to look on the left.
I can’t remember what I did on Sunday *thinks hard*. I think it was a un-religious day of rest to cope after the horror of Saturday and the stress I was going to endure on the Monday.
hmm… my memory is terrible.
