So today is Anne Louise’s birthday, and what a city to spend your birthday in.
We started the day at the Eiffel Tower, and I genuinely am amazed everytime I see it. It’s just awe inspiring up close.
Unfortunately the cheapest method of getting to the firtst floor was by steps… Lots of steps. Can I just say I don’t do well with heights. I get dizzy being in a six floor apartment. So I was pretty freaked out about half way up the steps, but I powered through.
After that was a walk up the Champs Ellysee, not stopping in any of the shops as this strip of road is particularly over priced…
Then back to the Youth Hostel, food, booze (for the girls) and a power nap for me.
Then a gig to round off the night at
3 bands were playing:
She Keeps Bees
Some band I didn’t like nor can I remember the name of.
King Charles.
The first and lasts band were entertaining, but the second band were just really irritating, a mix of art school cliches and middle aged Los Angeles social and fashion rejects.
But overall I enjoyed it and went to bed happy… And was then woken up at 3:30am by Sarah and Anne louise stumbling in arguing at full volume about a lost hat.
Drunken idiots!
